Our Venue

Queer PlayCon 2011 will be held at The Society, a beautifully maintained 4,400-square-foot dungeon in Hartford, Connecticut. The space has playstations galore, including two St. Andrew’s crosses, spanking benches, a bondage table, a chain web, a torture rack, an area for wax and fire play, and four suspension points.

Directions

The Society is at 806 Windsor Street in Hartford, Connecticut. It's 80 miles from Providence, 122 miles from New York City, 100 miles from Boston and 212 miles from Philadelphia.

Driving directions will be posted here closer to the event. There are two small lots, and plenty of free street parking.

Want to find a ride share? You can connect with other attendees in our FetLife Group and in the QPC Cruising section of our Web site once you register.

The space has a full kitchen, two comfy social areas, and three gender-neutral bathrooms.

During the day we’ll transform the space into classrooms and vending. On Friday and Saturday nights, The Society is welcoming us free of charge to its two regular parties. Both nights feature a potluck buffet great for grazing pre- and post-play. We'll also have two on-site lunches plus bottled water available throughout the conference.

The Society’s rules plus a few Queer PlayCon rules are listed below!

So you don't have to travel far from your hotel, we've negotiated a great deal for our attendees at the Hartford Sheraton, which is 1.6 miles from the conference venue. Click here for more information.

Society Rules

  1. No one under the age of 21 is permitted in the Space.

  11. Additional Queer PlayCon Rules

  1. Please arrive dressed discreetly. If you’d like to arrive in full kinkalicious attire (and we’re not discouraging you!) consider covering up with a jacket or sweater until you get inside. Alternatively you can change once you’re inside; the space has a dedicated changing area.
  2. We will have a staff photographer who will photograph only people who have agreed in advance and who have been given different-colored wristbands so they can be identified at a glance. Attendees may not take pictures and there will be absolutely no photography during the evening parties.
  3. Please wear as few scented products as possible.
  4. Please keep your cell phones on silent/vibrate and out of sight at all times, except in the designated cell-phone area.

Party Potlucks

One of the things we like best about the Society's parties are the great potlucks in which partygoers contribute to putting out a great spread-- -- everything from cheese and crackers to crock-pots of hearty food. Please do your part if you can by bringing a potluck item to share to the Friday and Saturday parties! Apple Pie

Since many Queer PlayCon attendees are coming from out of town, we’ll be bringing big trays of something on behalf of our group. So if you can’t bring something, don’t sweat it -- we’ve got you covered.

Meals

Your conference registration includes lunch Saturday and Sunday and a bagel breakfast Sunday. We'll also provide soft drinks during lunch and bottled water all day.

sandwiches

Friday night, everyone is invited to a group dinner at the Sheraton, which is not included in your registration fee. RSVP will be required to assure adequate space.

Saturday night you're on your own; we'll be posting a list of local restaurant suggestions.
